Birthday to Brave Lady of India – Kiran Bedi
Today
is a Birth anniversary of former IPS officer Kiran Bedi. Kiran Bedi is a
Retired Police Officer, Social worker, former tennis player and politician who
is serving as lieutenant Governor of Puducherry State. She was the first woman
to join in Indian Police service (IPS). After serving 35 years, she took
voluntary retirement in 2007. She has Shown her work efficiency while staying
in different positions. She will always be remembered as brave police officer.
Early
Life and work of Kiran Bedi
Kiran
Bedi was born on 9th June 1949 in Amritsar Punjab. She is daughter
of Mrs. Premlata and Mr. Prakash lal. She is second daughter in her four sister
of her Parents. She joined Indian Police service in 1972. She had started her career as
assistant superintendent at chanakyapuri area in Delhi. She served as honest
police officer and shown a path to others. In 1979, She won presidential Police Medal.

1993, she was deployed as Inspector General in Delhi.
In
2003, She was the first Indian woman to be appointed as the Police advisor to
the secretary General of the United Nations.

1994, Bedi established India vision foundation.

2009, Bedi Participated in the successful Women's management conference.

2010, Bedi established Navjyoti community college affiliated to IGNOU.
